Chicago mayoral candidate Lori Lightfoot received the endorsement of LPAC, the only organization dedicated to building the political voice of LGBTQ women. Lightfoot, the first ever openly LGBTQ+ candidate for mayor of Chicago, has also received the endorsement of Victory Fund.

“I’m honored to receive the LPAC endorsement,” said Lightfoot. “I’m running for mayor to build a Chicago City government that represents and defends every person, no matter their race, gender, or sexual orientation. As a LGBTQ+ woman of color, the LPAC mission to elect candidates who champion LGBTQ+ rights, women’s equality, and social justice deeply resonates with me. I look forward to working with LPAC to engage LGBTQ+ Chicagoans, women, and all voters committed to equity and inclusion in this election cycle and beyond.”

“Lori Lightfoot is a seasoned litigator, reformer, and public servant already well known to Chicagoans through her service on the City’s Police Board, Department of Procurement Services, and Police Accountability Task Force,” said LPAC in a Facebook post announcing the endorsement. “#TeamLPAC chose to endorse Lightfoot because she espouses and personifies our values of women’s equality and social justice. We can’t wait to support this amazing candidate across the finish line!”
