Chicago mayoral candidate Lori Lightfoot announced the endorsement of Indivisible Illinois 9th District Andersonville-Edgewater. Lightfoot will join with campaign volunteers and Indivisible IL9 members for a joint canvass kickoff on Saturday afternoon.

“I’m honored to receive the endorsement of Indivisible IL9,” said Lightfoot. “Our campaign is about mobilizing our neighborhoods around a vision for good jobs, quality schools, and public safety for all. It’s about building a City Hall that puts people first. Indivisible IL9 shares these commitments and we’re looking forward to joining together to knock doors, make phone calls, and meet as many voters as possible to make this vision a reality.”

“Lori Lightfoot will be an inspirational and progressive champion in City Hall—someone who promises to be the most transparent, ethical, and available mayor for the city,” said Indivisible IL-9. “Our members are excited to spend the next few weeks making phone calls, knocking on doors, and using our grassroots energy to make the city work for everyone. Indivisible IL9 is proud to endorse Lori Lightfoot for mayor of Chicago.

“Indivisible IL9 Andersonville-Edgewater carefully reviewed all the candidates’ published positions and policies, and Lori Lightfoot was the only candidate who addressed the issues that matter most to all Chicagoans. Her positions on housing, education, police reform, eradicating political corruption, and protecting LGBTQ rights are thorough and thoughtful, and she has a commanding knowledge of every Chicago neighborhood. Like Mayor Washington, Lori Lightfoot has a profound commitment to democracy, justice, and basic fairness. We strongly believe this makes her the best candidate for mayor of Chicago.”
