Chicago mayoral candidate Lori Lightfoot is the fourth place candidate in a recently announced poll conducted by Telemundo Chicago and NBC 5. The poll shows Lightfoot with 10 percent of the vote, Toni Preckwinkle with 14 percent, Bill Daley with 13 percent, Susana Mendoza with 12 percent, and Gery Chico with 9 percent. Given the poll’s margin of error of plus-or-minus 4 percent, Lightfoot is within the margin of error of first place.
“We’re surging as we head into the February 26th election,” said Lightfoot. “This is a five-way race and we can win. With just 11 days left, voters looking to take down the broken political machine are uniting around our campaign. We’ve been mobilizing voters ever since launching our campaign back in May and making clear the opportunity to reject the old Chicago way and elect a new, independent reformer. From our TV ad to the Chicago Sun-Times and Illinois Education Association Region 67 endorsements to this latest poll, we’re picking up steam every day.”
